Observe Arbor Day. Plant a tree withing the community. The variety of trees and site are chosen by the committee chair in accordance with the existing landscape design.
Gardening with Our Youth. Plant and maintain a garden for elementary students at a local school.
NGC High School Essay Contest. Sponsor the NGC High School Essay Contest for students at St. John High School, Plaquemine High School and Iberville Math, Science and Arts Academy. The theme is "Challenges in Preserving our Natural Habitats.
FLOWER SHOWS AND FLORAL DESIGN
Christmas Tea. Decorate a member's home using fresh flowers and greenery for the club's annual Christmas Tea.
Petite Floral Design. All club members bring petite flower arrangements to place at their luncheon setting for the March meeting. The arrangements are brought in recycled containers (no glass) and are taken to local nursing homes following the meeting to be enjoyed by the residents.
Monthly Floral Design. For each monthly meeting, a member designs an arrangement and reports on the elements of design and materials used. These arrangements are donated in recyclable containers as our monthly door prize.
Civic Development & Involvement
Governmental officials and guests at May Hat Luncheon. Invite governmental officials to the annual May Hat Luncheon. Recognize each for supporting Garden Club projects and activities.
Clean-up City/Cleanest City Contest. Work with City of Plaquemine and Iberville Parish officials to clean up the City of Plaquemine and participate in the LGCF Cleanest City Contest. Encourage individuals and other civic, religious, and youth groups to actively participate in litter removal. (Month of April)
Garden of the Month. Select an outstanding yard or garden in the Plaquemine area each month. The choice must meet the requirements set forth in the Garden Club's Yearbook.
Courthouse Square Maintenance. With approval of parish official, plant and maintain the large iron sugar kettles on the plaza of the Iberville Parish Governmental Complex.
Iberville Parish Museum. In keeping with the national and state presidents' themes and in cooperation with the Museum Director, the club will plant seasonal flower in the flowerpots and circulate flowerbed in the entrance walkway of to the museum. In addition, the club will decorate the mantel with holiday designs for the seasons.

HORTICULTURE & FUNDRAISER
Plant Sale. Annual plant sale open to the general public to raise funds for historical preservation projects in the city of Plaquemine.
Founder's Day Tour. Plan a trip to a special home, garden or event. The tours is held in the spring.
Horticulture Hints and Exhibits. Each month, for display at our meetings, plant specimens are selected and discussed.
CONSERVATION AND ENVIRONMENT
A member researches and writes a paper pertaining to environmental concerns. The paper pertains to the National Garden Club President's theme, "Plant America"
Gardening Book. Donate a gardening book to the Iberville Parish Library as a gift or in memory of a decease member(s).
Bereavement. A floral gift (usually a rose) is presented to a bereaved club member upon the death of a part, spouse or child.
